Terracotta Warriors exhibition at Liverpool's World Museum, Liverpool, Thursday, 01. February 2018

The famous Terracotta Army will return to the UK for the first time in over a decade and will be on display outside of London for the first time in 30 years as they come to World Museum Liverpool
The Terracotta Warriors are one of the most significant archaeological findings in the late 20th century. Thousands of life-size warriors, each with individual features modelled after real people, were built to protect the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qinshi Huangdi, in the 2nd Century BC.

His vast burial site and tomb complex was discovered near Xi’an in North West China in 1974, and the story of the tomb’s Terracotta Warriors will be displayed alongside important artefacts and research relating to the formative years of the Chinese nation, from the pre-unification Qin Kings (307 to 221 BC) to the First Emperor’s legacy in the Han Dynasty (206BC to 220AD).

China’s Terracotta Army will go on display at Liverpool’s World Museum from February 2018 to October 2018.
