As the Assistant Head Teacher, my job role entails the coordination of both Key Stage 1 and Early Years. This particular job role, and the historic attainment of the school, has required comprehensive and consistent monitoring in regards to teaching and learning as a whole. As the lead of 2 phases, I use a range of monitoring strategies to improve teaching, maximise assessment accuracy and tackle underachievement so that the attainment levels continue to rise towards national standards despite the low levels of attainment that children enter our setting with.
