Manage Stress and Anxiety: A Four Week Yoga Course

Life is stressful! There’s so much to plan, and budget for, people to see, things to do, places to be, screens to look at, notifications to read…. Most of us need to learn to rest and relax, which sounds easy, but it can be really tough to ‘switch off’.

Join Yoga Hero to learn tips and techniques to de-stress, switch off, rest and relax. We aim to have you feeling calm and refreshed after each session, but also furnish you with tool to learn how to keep that feeling of focus and calm for the days following.

Each session will build on what has gone before, helping you establish a toolbox of techniques to help you deal with stressful situations, stay calm, get to know yourself better, and ultimately look after your physical and mental health. 

Week 1: The basics of switching off 
Learn how to be in the moment, how to increase focus and decrease mental chatter. We’ll include basics tools and tips, and we’ll encourage you to practice these through the week. 

Week 2: An Introduction to the Nervous System
The nervous system is responsible for our stress levels. Join this session for an introduction to what happens to your body when you’re stressed out, and learn how yoga, mindfulness and meditation can help to decrease stress levels. 

Week 3: Yoga tools
This session will cover some simple sequences that you can do on your own, to build on what we’ve learnt so far, to help keep stress levels under control. No previous experience of yoga is necessary. We’ll cover how to release physical tension, feel calm and how to de-desk yourself! 

Week 4: Deepest rest
Over the previous three weeks, we’ll have looked at what stress is, how to decrease it pro-actively and re-actively, and how to keep a tension free (or reduced!) body. But sometimes we need a hard reset, so tonight’s session will do just that. Come along to find out more (warning: it will be very, very restful!)
