Crochet a Shawl with Di Stewart, Spin A Yarn, Thursday, 06. June 2019

Join us in our award-winning yarn shop in Bovey Tracey for a workshop from Di Stewart. Di has all the City and Guild qualifications to ensure that you become confident in crochet before you know it.
Delicate shawls have been all the rage amongst knitters for the last few years, but why should they have all the fun? You often get a very different effect from hand-dyed and space dyed yarns with crochet. This is a workshop for all the crochet fans who have wanted to make one of these most wearable and cosy accessories too.
This workshop will teach you the skills to make a shawl based on triangles, using basic crochet stitches of double crochet and treble.
You will learn:- how to increase to make the shape, how to start from top down, how to start from the bottom up and how to work from side to side! Also how to vary the increasing to change the shape.
There will be several shawl patterns to choose from and time in the workshop for you to start your shawl with support from the tutor.
This workshop is for people who have the basic crochet skills and can make basic stitches.
Please bring smooth 4ply yarn - we stock many options in the shop - (plus 3.5mm hook) for finer shawl or DK yarn (plus 4mm hook) for a thicker shawl.

Please bring your own lunch. There are also many local places to buy lunch nearby.
Tea-time treats and refreshments will also be served.
Either book here through Eventbrite, call 01626 836203 or pop into the shop in person.
Workshop attendees receive a discount voucher on the day, valid for one month from the date of the workshop on yarn and accessories.
