 Welcome to the 7th Annual Care Home Conference
 'Supporting people living with dementia and challenging behaviour'
  Hosted by the Quality Assurance Team Dorset Clinical Commissioning Team (CCG)
We have listened to your feedback from last years event and taken into consideration the information you have given us during our visits. This year our conference will be themed around how we support and care for people living with Dementia and/or challenging behaviours.
The keynote speaker for this event is
Sharon Aldridge-Bent, Queens Nurse
Sharon Aldridge-Bent joined the QNI in 2016 as a Programme Manager to deliver specific programmes of work which support the strategic priorities of the QNI. She has a clinical background in district nursing, specialist nursing including Macmillan nursing. For the previous twelve years, she has been as a senior lecturer in a university teaching Community Health Care Nursing and Specialist Practitioner Qualification for District Nurses and also nurse education. She was one of the authors of the original QNI online resource ‘Transition to Community Nursing’ and became a Queen’s Nurse in 2013. Sharon wrote the ‘Transition to Care Home Nursing’ resource in 2018 and developed the GPN Induction Template for NHSE in 2019.
Sharon is passionate about ‘care closer to home’ and has a particular interest in end of life and palliative care and was Trustee for her local Hospice for six years.  
The day includes, refreshments, lunch, stalls and opportunities to network, on site parking is free, other related topis on the day include Nutrion and Hydration for people living with Dementia presented by Professor Jane Murphy
