Annual Refresher Course for First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders - A minimum of 3 hours, Floor 3, Anchorage House, Thursday, 17. January 2019

Requilifcation First Aid at Work : 2 day course
This fully-accredited course is run by United Safe Care, part of the charity Diagrama Foundation, at our training centre in Chatham.
WHY DO I NEED THIS?
Although it is not mandatory, the HSE strongly recommend that HSE qualified First Aiders and Emergency First Aiders undertake an annual refresher course in order to keep their skills up-to-date and refreshed. The qualification period for both groups of First Aiders is 3-years. It was felt that this period was too long without any additional training
WHAT SHOULD I KNOW FIRST?
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommend that first aiders undertake annual refresher training throughout the three years that their Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualifications are valid. The three hour annual refresher course has been designed to meet that requirement and will help first aiders to maintain their skills and knowledge whilst also keeping up to date with any changes to protocols.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
A range of subjects is covered including:-
• Responsibilities
• Communication skills
• Primary Assessment
• Top-to-toe survey
• Recovery Position
• Action for vomit
• Resuscitation
• Chain of Survival
• Wounds and bleeding
• Bandaging
• Hygiene
